Who wants to celebrate the B.C. Day Long Weekend with us? We found some historic and musical community events in Langley and Port Moody for the whole family to enjoy August 5th– 7th, 2017.
Back to the Past: enjoy the Brigade Days all weekend long at Fort Langley’s National Historic Site. Get in touch with the early 1800’s with the arrival of Hudson’s Bay Fur Brigades. Actors dressed in period costumes will show you how they washed clothing, cooked their meals over the fire, lived in canvas tents, traded their furs, played music… plus much more. Choo Choo! The BC Farm Museum at 9131 King Street is celebrating with “TRAIN DAY”! Visit Fort Langley’s museum August 5th– 7th between 10:00 am-3:00 pm and enjoy the impressive model train exhibit. On Monday, there will be various demos and even some Furry Friends to cuddle, courtesy of Aldor Acres. Admission is by donation. Click here for more info!
Sit back and relax or “dance like no-body’s watching” at Port Moody’s Summer Sunday’s Music line up on Sunday August 6th from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Held at the beautiful Rocky Point Park there is a double header lined up for all ages to enjoy.
The RAIN CITY SIX Band starts things off at 2:00 pm. This Vancouver based high energy band will be sure to get the party started with their beat-dropping, finger-snapping, hip shaking music style.
Following at 4:00 pm is BC Juno Award Winner Powder Blues. Their mix of Blues, Jazz, Rock & Roll and R & B will appeal to all ages from seven to seventy. Get ready to shake, rock and roll! Click here for more info.
