Mother's Day 2018 Events

Every day, moms should be appreciated for all their love, devotion, and hard work. However, on Mother’s Day we have an extra special reason to celebrate these amazing women. Take mom to one of the events in the Langley area or Tri-Cities this year, and you’ll make this Mother’s Day an especially memorable one.

Langley Area Events

  1. Wine Cellar Tours at Blackwood Lane Vineyards and Winery (Aldergrove): If your mom enjoys, wine, cheese, and charcuterie, then this event is sure to delight her. Attendees can taste wine straight from the barrels, while learning about winemaking. After the tour, mom even has the option of blending her own bottle of wine, which will be labeled “Mom’s Own Alliànce”.
  1. Bloom Market (Fort Langley): A little retail therapy might be the perfect Mother’s Day gift this year. Take mom on a fun shopping spree, and support local artists and artisans at the same time. More than 30 vendors from around the province will be at Fort Langley Community Hall as part of Bloom Market. Mom will have tons of fun picking out unique, handmade creations that she won’t find anywhere else.
  1. Celebrate Single Moms (Langley): On Saturday, May 12th, single moms will get some well-deserved pampering courtesy of North Langley Community Church. Ladies can relax in the mini spa while their car is washed and given an oil change. Other activities include a Mother’s Day luncheon, workshops, giveaways, and more.

Tri-Cities Events

  1. Mother’s Day Tea in the Train (Port Moody): Taking mom for tea on Mother’s Day is a popular tradition for many. This year, though, it might be time to forsake the tearoom for something a bit more novel. How about a 1921 railcar? Yes, you and mom can step back in time and enjoy tea, baked goods, and fruit in the Port Moody Station Museum’s Venosta passenger train car. Be sure to RSVP to reserve your seats!
  1. Heritage Mother’s Day Gift Making (Coquitlam): Kids love making gifts for mom on her special day. And often for mothers, these handmade presents are the ones that mean the most. On May 5th, Coquitlam’s Mackin House will be hosting a by-donation kids’ crafting afternoon. While adults relax by the fire, staff and volunteers will help children ages four and up make something memorable.
  1. Mother’s Day Picnic in Lion’s Park (Port Coquitlam): Get outside on Mother’s Day and bask in the beauty of spring. As part of Port Coquitlam’s May Days, the Kinsmen Club will be hosting a pancake breakfast and barbecue lunch at Lion’s Park. And, from 10 until 3, enjoy family entertainment, including May Pole dancing with the Tiddley Cove Morris Dancers.
